Intro to
Black & White
Photography
w/ Bob Viens

This class will run 8 weeks

Wednesdays 6-8pm                          **Class starts July 2
Students will start by learning to operate the manual controls of a 35mm camera. By the end of their first class, they will be ready to start taking pictures. From there they will learn the elements of a good photograph and how to develop and print their images in the darkroom. By session's end, students will be proficient with darkroom techniques.  Click here to see some of the student work from last session.
Exploring Southern Vermont
w/ Tim Callahan
Days & Times below
Open to beginning, intermediate and advanced students interested in exploring nature photography.  Tim will lead students on trips so some of his favorite spots helping them capture the natural world on film.  The class will also meet at In-Sight wo work in the darkroom to process film and print photos.

Starts Monday, July 7 (will meet daily for 1 week)
This class will be held over 5 consecutive days from 10am to 3pm at In-Sight.  Each day a different instructor will lead students through a new photographic process.  Students will work in In-Sight's darkroom and digital lab and make pictures with pinhole cameras and 4X5 view cameras.
Digital Photography, Photoshop & Webpage Building
w/ Joey Morgan

July 11, 12, 18 & 19 10am-2pm
Students will learn how to capture digital images and manipulate them in Photoshop, the most powerful imaging software available.  They will then learn to construct basic web pages so they can share their digital work through their own pages on In-Sight's website.  Taught by Joey Morgan.  Joey's work can be seen at  www.lostbuttons.com and www.dreamlab.org
Exposures

Starts Saturday, July 26 (will meet daily for 7 or 8 days - times will vary - please check back for additional details) open to students 14 and up
For the first time in Exposures program history, students from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, from the Navajo tribe in Arizona as well as local youth from New York will journey to Brattleboro as part of this year's trip.  During that time, the group will work on photo oriented projects to faciliate a cross-cultural learning experience. Work from the week will be exhibited at the River Garden.  Local participants will help introduce visiting students to the area as everyone works together to create artistic projects about the community.  Additionally, a few Brattleboro area students will be selected to travel to South Dakota and New York, please inquire if you are interested.  For information on how to apply for this unique opportunity please click here.
