Newsletter Number 3 - Summer 2002
New Summer Classes at In-Sight Photography
Classes run from the week of June 23rd through August. Schedule
of days and times will be posted on Boys and Girls Club door.
Register for classes by phone: 251-9960.
Introduction to Photography
This course will introduce students to the mechanics of a
manual 35mm camera and how to process and print black and
white film. The In-Sight darkroom is fully stocked with equipment
and chemistry for the students to use. Cameras are also available
for the duration of the course.
Intermediate Photography
Word and Image This course will concentrate on putting
photographic images and words together – words could mean
a title, a poem, a story - and exploring how the two influence
each other. Some prior darkroom experience is necessary.
Intermediate Photography
Alternative Processes This course will explore other
methods to create a photographic image. Some methods are historical
printing processes like Kallitypes and Cyanotypes. Other processes
involve liquid emulsion that allows one to create an image
on wood, metal, or plastic. Time intensive class but well
worth it!
Advanced Open Lab
All students who have taken multiple classes at In-Sight may
have access to Open Lab times. You must, however, sign up
for the privilege and pay a lab fee of $100 (negotiable).
