Fall Classes
Fall Classes 2002 are starting the week of September 22nd.
Registration will be from 6-8pm on September 19th at
17 Flat Street.
Introduction to Photography: Learning to See This
course will introduce students to the mechanics of a manual
35mm camera and how to process and print black and white film.
The Insight darkroom is fully stocked with equipment and chemistry
for the students to use. Cameras are also available for the
duration of the course.
Incentive Class: Narrative Photography In this intensive
course, we will bring words and photography together to explore
how we experience, capture and express the world around us,
as well as the worlds of memory and imagination. We will read
the stories that others have created through images and language
, and find how we can use these tools in our own creative
work. Darkroom experience required
All Level Class: Picturing Grief This class
is open to those who are experiencing an illness themselves;
of a friend or family member; or to those who are grieving
the loss of a loved one. The loss may be recent or have occurred
years ago. Each student will be given the opportunity to use
photography as a way to express, explore and/or document his/her
experiences and emotions. In class we will share, write and
talk about the photographs we create. Each student’s comfort
and privacy will be respected. The course is open to children/teens
and their family members and prior knowledge of photography
is not required.
Advanced Open Lab
Students who have taken multiple classes at In-Sight but do not
wish to take another class may have access to the Open Lab.
You must, however, sign up for the privilege and pay a lab fee.
