IN-SIGHT’S MISSION STATEMENT

In-Sight is a photography project for Brattleboro area youth. It was founded on the belief that teenagers are constantly seeking their individual identities and place in the society, but so often they do so without either the proper tools or forum for demonstrating their talents, perspectives, ideas and aspirations to the community. In-Sight provides teenagers with the tools and forum to do so.

Using cameras as tools and the medium of photography as the forum, young people involved with In-Sight find ways to express themselves in a positive manner. At In-Sight, not only do young people learn how to expose film and print photographs, they learn a new and powerful language of communication, and they are encouraged to use this language for their own personal investigations and expressions.
